School of Rock - Round Rock

School of Rock – Round Rock is a music and performance school that combines 1-on-1 lessons with group band practices making it the ultimate music school for kids and adults. School of Rock – Round Rock is for all skill levels, ages, and musical aspirations. With students ranging from toddlers to adults, it’s where music students grow into real musicians.

They Needed...

help with all aspects of Marketing. When they came to Tricycle Creative, the school had only been open for a few months and were looking for help in promoting their school online and in the local community.

Tricycle Creative hosted consulting meetings with the School of Rock – Round Rock staff and assisted them with:

Bohemian Rhapsody Promo

This was the first video we did with our School of Rock Round Rock client and the timing corresponded with the release of the film Bohemian Rhapsody. As part of a promotional campaign, School of Rock ran a competition with all their schools asking them to submit a video that showcased how they celebrated and promoted the music of Queen leading up to the film’s release. The schools that provided the top three videos (as judged by School of Rock head office and partners at 20th Century Fox) would receive a early screening of the film for their students, parents, and staff.

This video was one of the winners.

How We Rock

This was the first video we did with our School of Rock Round Rock client and the timing corresponded with the release of the film Bohemian Rhapsody. Music Camps

School of Rock Round Rock is a revolutionary performance-based music school for anyone ages 6-60. But, they are even more than just a music school. They host immersive music camps throughout the year.

We created this video to inform prospective customers about what these music camps are and how they are different than any other music camp on the market.

Music Industry + Community Events

We created this video to showcase how connected School of Rock Round is to their local community and how committed they are to creating amazing experiences for their students. This shows prospective customers know that they are getting more than just music instruction when they become a part of the School of Rock family.

Animated Instruments

In our discussions with School of Rock Round Rock, it was important to let prospective customers know that their school offers instruction in guitar, bass, drums, keyboard + piano, and vocals. This would also prove helpful because it allows us to message more specifically to target audiences. So instead of saying, “Learn to play your instrument” or something generic like that, we can specifically craft and tailor our message based on the instrument in the post/ad.

Our content team kicked around a lot of ideas for this campaign and finally settled on creating short-form animations that would act as, what we call, “scroll stoppers”. “Scroll stoppers” are designed to do just that – stop people from scrolling on social media platforms so that they actually consume the content and the message.

Backstage

The Backstage cartoon series was created with School of Rock Round Rock to share stories, experiences, and tips from the talented instructors and staff members. It was strategically designed to be short-form so that it could be used across multiple platforms and in both organic and paid campaigns.
