Sales are the lifeblood for every business but it can prove challenging for entrepreneurs and creatives who are managing all aspects of their business. In this video, Ross Herosian (Founder + CEO of Tricycle Creative) outlines six of his favorite sales tools that can help you make your sales process more efficient AND more effective.

Tool #1 — Google Sheets

People tend to get stuck when starting out because they think that they need a CRM (Customer Relationship Management tool) and you don’t. It’s usually too expensive and complicated for someone starting out and Google Sheets does the job. It used to not be as functional as Excel, but it’s come a long way and is FREE. Ross builds out the spreadsheet that a fellow entrepreneur showed him. It is a simple lead prospect tracking sheet. There are three zones. This chart is flexible and you can adjust it to your preferences.

  • TOP 5 (0-30 Days) – This category is for the proposals or contracts that action needs to be taken acceptance within 30 days.
  • MIDDLE 10 (30-60 Days) – This category is for the proposals or contracts that action needs to be taken acceptance within 30-60 days.
  • BOTTOM 15 (60+ Days) – This category is for the proposals or contracts that action needs to be taken acceptance in 60+ days. These might be more complicated contracts or cold leads that you’re working.

Here is the TEMPLATE.

Tool #2 — Loom

Loom was one of the first tools that Ross used when he started his agency and is one that he continues to use. Loom is a screen share service that is great for training and walk-through’s but you can also use it for your sales. You can do a simple video introduction. You could show off your work, or your website and send that to a prospective client. You can also use it to share your feedback or recommendations. For example, if you’re a graphic designer, you can go to a prospective client’s website, walk through it, and show them why they should go with your services. Once you make your video, you just have to grab the share link and you can include that in your proposal or email.

Tool #3 — PandaDoc

Creating, sending, and tracking proposals can be a daunting task. PandaDoc can automate processes and make it easy to create and send proposals. You can create templates for proposals, create a content library, and even create a catalog with all of your pricing. The most helpful feature is electronic signatures. This will speed up getting people signed on. This tool transformed Ross’s sales cycle and doubled his conversion. Get a 14-day free trial!

Tool #4 — Calendly

One of the biggest hassles of sales and work-life as a whole is getting meetings scheduled. You can set up blocks of time when you want to be able to schedule meetings and how you want to meet. You can also connect your other calendars and if you have a meeting during that time block, it will account for it.

Tool #5 — Google Meet

One of the biggest hassles of sales and work-life as a whole is getting meetings scheduled. You can set up blocks of time when you want to be able to schedule meetings and how you want to meet. You can also connect your other calendars and if you have a meeting during that time block, it will account for it.
