Instagram might be testing a feature where you can watch videos with friends.

A eagle-eyed Instagram user (and probably code writer) has spotted some changes and code that may be paving the way for a “Watch Together” feature. Earlier this year, Facebook introduced Watch Party for Groups where members can watch videos, comment, and interact together. And in a ever-increasing trend, so goes Facebook, so goes Instagram.

Looking into our crystal ball, this seems like a feature that can be used to further develop a audience and user base for IGTV – Instagram’s long-form video platform.

Marketing Tip:

While this feature may not be here yet, it should get you thinking about live streaming for your business. This is usually best utilized for special promotional events or product/service launches.

Trash. Don’t pick it up.

Easy advice but every day that goes by, we’re making more of it. Well, Gillette (and parent company P&G) is trying to do their part with a razor recycling program. To get this done, they are working with Terracycle, a company known for recycling hard-to-recycle materials, and when they have a shipment ready, download a shipping label and send it in so the materials can be sterilized, shredded, and recycled into products like bike racks, park benches, and pet food bowls.

If you happen to be a member of their subscription service you’re in luck – you can send in your razors through your subscription box.

Marketing Tip:

Smart Giving, the idea where you can involve your business with a charitable cause while at the same time increasing awareness of your product/service, is something we’ve written about before. This is a great way to contribute to your community (be it local or global), get your team out of the office, and to share what your Brand stands for.
