Inside of Instagram Stories, there a little known feature that you can use to engage your audience: Polls
Using Instagram Polls you can elicit consumer feedback and crowdsource decision-making for your business. Here are some inspirational examples of polls:
WHAT CAN MY BUSINESS DO WITH INSTAGRAM POLLS?
- Ask a simple question. Posing a Yes/No question to your audience is probably the best way to collect responses because it’s easy. You can craft these around the problem your product/service addresses but feel free to also inject some personality and quirkiness once in a while.
- Make a pick. Asking your audience to chime in on a decision or feature of your product/service is a fun way to get them invested in what you are doing. These types of polls I’ve seen used a lot by ice cream stores who do a weekly or monthly flavor.
- Sign up for something. This one’s a little unconventional, but could definitely yield benefits. Post a poll asking if your audience would like to sign up for your mailing list OR if they’d like to attend an event you are hosting. The people who respond “Yes”, you can direct message with information.
- Find out what they need. Ask your audience what they need help with and design a content plan around it. Something like What part of your marketing needs more love? and then give a choice of social media or branding
